Losing Doug Emhoff would help Harris politically. He does have domestic violence assault charges and has admitted to having an affair with a nanny when his kids were small. He's a Big Law partner, where being being obnoxious and arrogant is pretty much in the job description. And regardless of what one thinks about Israel, being Jewish isn't helping anyone politically in 2028. In short, Doug Emhoff is an anvil for Harris. Being unencumbered of both Biden and Emhoff allows Harris to truly be independent. And right now, there is no Democratic front runner. She has the most name recognition out of anyone. No one really dislikes her. Funding won't be a problem. If she gets Clyburn on her side that will go far on Super Tuesday. Harris would be a formidable candidate if she plays her cards right. But she did just buy a Malibu mansion, which is generally a no-no for Democratic presidential candidates looking for the working class vote. So I'm not entirely convinced she's going to run. Or her political instincts remain completely out of touch with reality, which will sink her anyway as it did last time when she couldn't even make it to Iowa. But divorced and free Kamala Harris has a pretty good shot at the nomination. No other Democrat has caught fire like Obama did at a similar stage. The race is wide open and Harris would immediately be a leading contender.
I read Kamala Harris’ book and these were my takeaways: 1. She is not necessarily a bad person, but she doesn’t really stand for anything. 2. Her political instincts are bad. Really bad. In the book she waxes poetic about her love of Israel “since childhood” and it’s just a terribly bizarre tangent that makes no sense. It’s given as her explanation of why she didn’t push back harder on Israel during the genocide. At the same time, she says “Palestinians have rights too.” Well that’s fabulous huh. Also, Why would half Indian half Haitian Kamala Harris give two shits about Israel as a child? Further, why would she go out of her way to declare her intense love of Israel in this environment where Israel conducts genocides and ethnic cleansing on the American dime and Americans are increasingly sick of it? Just utterly dumb. She can’t win on the national stage.
