We can’t mix K entry vs G9 entry. For example, Grace Church has a lot of kids leaving after G8, so their HS entry is much easier. For K, it’s less than 10% acceptance rate.
And this is the problem - dated, inaccurate information. Grace is retaining a lot more kids than it used to. It still admits a lot of kids as it roughly doubles in size. But more kids are staying. Which is why it has become more competitive. Though like at many other schools, the new kids who start in 9 actually tend to often be the smartest as they are accepted increasingly for academic achievement and not play date performance how much the parents suck up. Again, for the haters, I am in no way, shape or form saying Grace is TT. Not even close. But it makes a more compelling argument for 2T. Largely depends on how you define it. I am all for critical debate and discussion. The Trevor hater who was getting criticized and deleted was beyond that. There was zero basis in truth and they were universally calling all kids at a school dumb. That is not OK. And it is not true. Anyone who makes blanket statements about a school is not worth listening to. And anyone that hateful should not be here. Good riddance. And regarding St. Ann's. That situation festered and was encouraged by the school and is symptomatic about bigger problems there. It is hard to ignore. Totally agree that any school can end up with a rogue teacher so be careful commenting on someone else. But it went way beyond that.
A lot of TTs have informal HR procedures, lax oversight, and do gooderism that can lead to hiring criminals. It isn’t specific to St Ann’s. The Trevor poster was a clown. But so was at least one of the schools defenders who cursed and went crazy saying it was TT (his or her posts were taken down). Broader point, getting into a TT and not a school like Grace or Trevor only means the latter was managing yield and knew a top applicant wouldn’t enroll there. It doesn’t mean they are equivalent to TT.
Regarding St. Ann's: I only mildly fault them for hiring the guy. I more severely fault them for repeatedly ignoring clear signs of problems. And I think it was willful ignorance due to their particular emphasis on progressivism. And to add context: I am a Democrat and not MAGA, so I am not saying this in a Trumpy way. And I think other schools might have done this to some extent also as most private schools in NYC have this mentality in their DNA, but I think it is particularly strong at St. Ann's which made them more susceptible to this happening. And regarding Grace and Trevor (and Packer, Friends, etc). Again. No one is claiming they are equivalent to TT. So please stop. Saying that is enabling the lunatics like Trevor hater as it creates a false narrative that never existed.
Agree regarding the schools’ DNA. Someone on page 1 of this thread literally said Trevor is TT. Idk if it’s bait or a joke on that poster but it is there. I haven’t seen Grace claimed as TT
OK. That is one person. No one else has said that. Agree that it is not true. I can say that Trinity is 4T. Doesn't make it right or worth discussing beyond one person refuting it. And I think it was established that the Trevor TT comment was made in jest to mess with the Trevor hater, not out of seriousness. Let's move on. That being said, thank you for replying reasonably. Too many loud mouth jerks here.
