I went to a catholic HS (I'm agnostic) and a very conservative campus in the south already mentioned in this thread.  Guess what?  I was one of the only bleeding heart liberals when I started, and I remained that way and still am to this day.  I truly enjoyed the spirited debates I had with my many right-leaning friends.  I liked to hear their perspective, and at times it did shift my views a little, as well as my points shifting theirs a little.  Honestly, this is the way things are SUPPOSED to work in this great land of ours - compromise, meeting in the middle.  Surrounding yourself with only like minded individuals is no way to live.

I was a politics major and there were professors from BOTH sides, as well as true moderates.  Not all college professors are trying to convert your kids into commies, no matter what you hear out there.  College is supposed to be about being able to think for yourself and defend your viewpoint, as well as learning from others.[/quote]
