People are so upset about a statue. What about all the men, women, and children they’ve killed? Are they not God’s children? Why is it only one group that’s allowed to be genocidal homicidal war happy maniacs and commit unholy holy wars?
Because willfully destroying a statue of Jesus Christ has a lot of symbolic importance. And that kind of hatred for "others" seems to be the norm in Israel today. Obviously, there are consequences. Israel continues to isolate themselves from the rest of humanity. I don't understand for a minute why this kind of extremism is a win for Israel. Israelis are no different than the Taliban destroying the Buddhas of Bamiyan in Afghanistan. They are religious extremists today. But unlike Afghans, Israelis willfully chose Netanyahu and the extremist parties.
DP. You know this was condemned all over Israel, from the top right on down - right?? This despicable action was taken by ONE IDF soldier and condemned by everyone else, to include Netanyahu and Huckabee. Maybe try actually reading the link before smearing all of Israel.
DP. In the Hebrew press? Think not.
Do you even know how to google? Think not. https://www.haaretz.com/middle-east-news/lebanonnews/2026-04-20/ty-article/.premium/idf-says-it-will-probe-soldier-who-smashed-jesus-statue-in-southern-lebanon/0000019d-a7cd-d834-abbd-ffcd61950000 https://www.timesofisrael.com/idf-says-image-of-soldier-destroying-jesus-statue-in-lebanon-is-real-vows-action/ https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-893544
That's the English not Hebrew press.
Sorry, you're being an absolute idiot. All of those sources are also available in Hebrew because they are ISRAELI news sources.
My God, you're insufferable with your credulity. The primarily Hebrew audience press reports very different things than the primarily English audience press. And you absolutely know that.
I read three Hebrew-language papers a day, including Israel Hayom, which is way more right of center than my personal politics. All of them have condemned this act. It's true that they have framed it more as fault of a single soldier and not as a systemic issue across the IDF, but it's been pretty universally seen by the press as a moral failure that reflects badly on the country as a whole. There was also a fair bit of shock about how quick and how loudly Netanyahu and Zamir spoke out against it. And for the record, if you have questions about how Israeli Hebrew-language press is covering things, you can read it yourself, rather than speculate. Just go to any website and tell Chrome to translate the page. It's really that easy, try it: https://www.israelhayom.co.il/
