Loudoun just moved their last day of school up to Friday, June 12th to prioritize a cleaner ending to the school year and add 5 days (including the weekend) to summer.  Lots of support in this discussion, especially given we began school on the same date.

Nobody is changing this year's calendar and likely also not next year's calendar, which has already been released. You can lobby for this to occur in future years, but nobody is changing calendars that already exist.[/quote]

See above comments. The last graduations are scheduled for June 12 and preschool has already extended to June 16. The only possible change for this year is canceling the May ER day for ES. Any changes made will occur for 26-27 SY. [/quote]

A lot of reasons. Teachers go to graduations at high school level and admin in pyramid also go. All graduations happen before the last day due to many people being out of buildings, etc. I am pretty sure classes are canceled on graduation dates. They are also not going to cancel due to fact that preschool was extended and ES end of year planning is done. It isn’t happening. [/quote]

There have been a few schools over the past several years who have had graduation the day after school ends. If teachers are still on contract, they can do that.[/quote]
