Anyone want to forecast who you think the top 4 teams will be in each age group this weekend?
Actual results from bid regionals (top 4 teams in each age group): 11s 1. Metro 11 Travel 2. Paramount VBC 11 Maureen 3. Libero 11 Huskies 3. MVSA 11 Chaos 12s 1. MDJRS 12 Elite 2. Metro 12 Travel 3. Paramount VBC 12 Jaz 4. MVSA 12 Vortex (CH) 13s 1. Paramount VBC 13 Walter 2. Metro 13 Travel 3. MVSA 13 Wahoo! 4. MDJRS 13 Elite 14s 1. Blue Ridge 14 Blue 2. MVSA 14 Force 3. BAVA 14 Waves 4. American 14 Red 15s 1. Blue Ridge 15 Blue 2. Paramount VBC 15 Nick 3. Metro 15 National 4. MDJRS 15 Elite Black 16s 1. Paramount VBC 16 Maureen 2. Blue Ridge 16 Blue 3. LIBERO 16 HUSKIES 4. LEVBC U16 National 17s 1. Paramount VBC 17 Nick 2. VA Juniors 17 Elite 3. MVSA 17 Blaze 4. VA Elite 17's My 2 cents on todays's results: I'm not feeling motivated to update the bids earned list that started this thread, but I'm pretty sure Metro has the most bids at this point. They already had 5 open bids plus 18 North has a freedom bid and they likely got at least 4 additional bids today, making at least 10 total. Metro's new 11 Travel team winning bodes well for future seasons. 2nd place for both 12 and 13 Travel is solid, although I'm sure they were hoping for 1st. Only Metro National team with a high finish was 15 National finishing 3rd. 16 National wasn't ranked high enough to be accepted into bid regionals and 17 National finished 7th, so probably out of the conversation for any reallocated bid, but Metro having two non-Travel teams earning bids is not something that usually happens. Paramount seems to have earned at least 7 bids today. In addition to the 6 teams that finished in the top 4, I think CHRVA had 5 bids at 14s meaning the Paramount 14s likely got a freedom bid. It's probable at least one or two of their teams could still win an open bid, but that probably won't change their overall bid count. I don't think any of the Paramount 2nd teams finished high enough to expect a reallocated bid and I don't think 18s are likely to get one either. Paramount winning 3 divisions is a solid performance, but perhaps slightly below expectations with so many Metro Travel teams not at regionals. Blue Ridge confirms they are 3rd strongest club in CHRVA with 2 age group wins and a 2nd place. MVSA still really strong, but has lost their dominance in the younger age groups. Libero quietly becoming a real CHRVA contender. MDJRs pretty strong at younger age groups, but older teams didn't finish highly. VA Elite and VA Juniors with not great results - probably still belong in the conversation for stronger CHRVA clubs, but not top 5 anymore.
