Are you serious? There is an active shooter outside the president’s preferred residence of choice and the FBI director is pounding beers in a locker room in Italy. IDK any prior FBI director who would’ve comported themselves similarly. [/quote]

It would be short sighted for the FBI to declare that the threat against Trump ended with the shooting of the man at Mar A Lago. There were search warrants executed in Moore, NC last night. Interviews in his hometown. Patel should have been in the U.S. to give the impression that he takes threats seriously and is supervising the investigation. He really showed that the FBI does its best work when he is not there to muck it up. He has the judgment of a longtime alcoholic. [/quote]

You probably know many functional alcoholics. Patel is barely functional. His inability to read the room and prioritize what’s important makes me think he’s deep into it. I remember a photo of him in Las Vegas on a go cart looking trashed. I have to assume it’s his regular status.

FBI directors used to be dour professionals with an air of mystery and competence.  I don’t think they were ever photographed not wearing a suit. They had built back so much after J Edgar retired. [/quote]
