Interesting thread after being at the SWS open house this weekend. The space is certainly way more pleasant than other schools we’ve seen so far, and I can see why kids would be happy to be there. Heck, I even felt more chill touring it. I didn’t get good input on curriculum as most of the convo on the tour was geared to PK/K and questions from PK parents. Still not sure where to rank it. It seems exactly like the kind of preschool our family would love, but in the slim chance event we get a spot, I really don’t know if we’d bail after ECE or make it our elementary school period.
Probably depends on what our IB is. If it's a school you feel good about sending your kid for K-5 or 1-5, then maybe rank SWS first knowing it gets you the ECE experience you for sure want and you can switch to your IB no problem. If you are not happy with your IB, I might weigh charters against SWS and consider whether there might be another school that gives you a better overall option through all of elementary. I would also factor in MS feed. I know it's a long way away, but it's very important for Hill families (assuming you live on the Hill). IMO ECE is pretty darn good across the system, even if not every program is your ideal.
