i have the same amount of kids. i was saying it’s 2 years for the kids to be up early. but they appreciate being done earlier and not having to run right to sports like their elementary school siblings. our family is all early risers naturally so maybe that plays into it? 2 weeks of my elementary kids being home/not going to school until 11:20 is draining on everyone. especially when they get up at 5:30[/quote]

DP.  Have you never heard of early birds?  Lots of people are early risers.  Even children.  You would tell your kids to go back to sleep?

Lots of people are night owls too, but parents still parent and make their kids go to bed at a time where they will get enough sleep when they have to catch the bus at 6:30am.  And quoting someone based of making the most of your time while the sun is up because no one has electricity is just dumb.  It doesn't apply anymore.[/quote]

Most little kids are early risers. That is why starting school after 9 is a waste. The kids at the late ES already struggle with this. Go into any ES class at 3:00 and it is literally whack a mole for an hour. The late ES get home between 4:30-5:15ish as is. That is why plan E of the middle school start times was ridiculous.
