There are a lot of strange comments based on nothing in this thread. FWIW MV and DCI use standardized testing to see if children are learning Spanish. They don’t need a double blind research study. Math is taught in Spanish and English (every other lesson) and science, history, literacy are taught in both languages.
+1. MV is the only school that teaches all subjects in both English and Spanish. They don’t drop the spanish in core subjects like math in the higher grades. They don’t use any English in the spanish classes and expect the kids to talk and reply in spanish. The bar is high. All staff are native speaking and in the hallways, they are all speaking spanish among themselves, not English. We don’t speak any spanish and our kid came from MV. He tested intermediate level across the board (comprehension, speaking, reading, writing) at MV and was placed in the highest spanish level at DCI which had a good number of other MV kids in addition to native speaking kids.
