I guess if you wanted to sleep on your back and in braids, you could do a single braid on the side over one shoulder, or two braids? Anyway, I have naturally straight, thick hair, and usually shower in the morning, but occasionally will shower in the early evening so that it is completely dry before I braid it for bed. When I do that, my hair isn't super "crimpy" from the braid in the morning, but it gives it just a slight wave after brushing that ends up looking like extra volume through the day.
