I did it and am glad I did. One kid in college was shocked. Other kid expected it. The kid who was shocked ended up rethinking a lot of things but doesn't seem scarred. We all still do holidays together and are civil.
Why did you divorce?
My spouse had contempt for me, was not sexually attracted to me, and did not care about my happiness at all. Spouse didn't disagree with my reasons but spouse was surprised I left.
Mmmmkay. And you had no role in it? Righhhht.
I contributed by being unattractive to my spouse and shutting down when my spouse was unpleasant, and in other ways too. Spouse didn't disagree with my reasons though. Marriage counselor was on my side too. Spouse just wanted to replace marriage counselor, which we did, but second counselor also was on my side. Yes I had plenty to do with it but I mostly blame spouse and so does spouse. Spouse is happier now and so am I.
