I volunteer with the elderly and I would say half of those in their 70s are still physically active and productive, but half would fall into the elderly category. Usually due to diseases and medical problems. Almost all 80+ are "elderly". Going from old to elderly can come fast. So many say to me that just a few years ago they were building projects in their garage, managing the maintenance on a large house and acreage, still playing golf, riding bikes, and strenuous hiking. Then suddenly their body and health just decline and now it's a challenge to walk from the house to the car without falling.[/quote]
