Plaka Grill, Papa John’s, 29th Parallel Coffee, Roberto’s, Yas, Great Harvest, The Sandwich Shop, Cafe de Vienna, Rita’s, Le Bistro, Evelyn Rose, sushi Yoshi, Cocoa Vienna, Caffe Amouri, Kiln and Custard, Hometown Roasters, Toastique, Royal Nepal, Pure Pasty, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Lombardi Pizza, Peking Express, Vienna Inn, Bear Branch, Whole Foods, Wooden Bakery, Caboose, Dar Mariam, Ledo Pizza… Those are some of the food options in an area you can walk across in 10 minutes according to Google Maps, without walking more than a couple dozen feet along Maple unless you chose to. There are at least another dozen beyond that radius…
Don't the residents of Pimmitt Hills walk to the McLean Metro station and enjoy the Safeway and cafes in the strip mall near the station? I don't live there so I don't know. Also, a new wildly popular high end bakery opened by the McLean Station, the Sunday Morning Bakehouse.
That is walkable for houses in the northern part of the neighborhood. There is also some limited shopping walkable to the southern part of the neighborhood along 7. I have lived in both areas and enjoyed both. Vienna is much more of a “town,” but Pimmit Hills is in a great location for many people and has a lot to recommend it.
