My program (top program for SW) cost $30k a year for 2 years so hardly $200k. Plus I received a 50% merit scholarship. Second, the demand for social workers is very high. Third, with a BA SW degree you can qualify for case management jobs but for mental health counseling (higher pay) you need an MSW. Fourth, there is a specialization in MSW programs which is akin to business school but instead of learning to use those skills (management, strategy, budgeting) you learn to use those skills to better society. Don’t we want more people trained to do that?[/quote]
