This problem got very bad during and immediately after the pandemic. I'd say it was already down from it's peaked (maybe 2022?) when Trump was reelected. His actions have done nothing to further improvement be it though.

The NG are totally superfluous around here. Neither harmful nor helpful. Given the expense, and the weirdness of being in an American city patrolled by military (and not in the aftermath of a terrorist attack or other national security crisis, but just because), it's nuts to me they are still here.

I would love to hear from the mayor and police chief what they are doing about the continued drug problem. I also think off leash dogs are a real issue in my neighborhood, and know multiple people who have sustained dog bites in the last 6 months without animal control doing anything to address it. I'd love to see the city (not trump, and not the NG) address these public health and safety issues.[/quote]
