If a friend in a group of friends suggests a meet up at a restaurant they know you don't like, do you just not go? For instance, Sarah texts our group of 7 women suggesting a friend dinner. Everyone agrees on 7pm on December 5th. Then a bunch of restaurants get suggested, including a seafood restaurant. You are allergic to shellfish and don't care for fish. Do you just decline the get together or do you eat a huge lunch and then just get drinks or a small salad? Are you right to be put off by this when everyone knows your allergy? I'm trying real hard to not be offended here.
A bunch got SUGGESTED including ONE seafood restaurant?! OP you got miffed before any was even selected and if you didn't immediately say NOT SEAFOOD PLEASE I AM ALLERGIC then how tf are they supposed to remember not to pick that one. If you CLAMMED UP cuz your panty knot was too tight to text, then it's all on you. Oh btw what if they picked Outback Steakhouse or Morton's and somebody ordered seafood?
Neither OP nor the allergy alarmists want to address what happens when they go to another restaurant and shellfish are ordered and consumed. And prepared in the same kitchen. If that's not a problem then why is the seafood restaurant? OP only had a mild issue once when she ate crab dip unknowingly.
