OP is not clear about the grade. They say “getting ready for middle school.” If the child is in 4th they can lottery for a DCI feeder in 5th. DCI has taken all feeder kids so far so it’s a safe bet. [/quote]

Yes I did look at the data. They were able to accommodate all rising 6th graders last year. Looks like it will be the same this coming year from projections, at least according to my feeder. I think 2nd grade and below should worry but so far there has been enough attrition to Latins/ Basis/ suburbs/ deal among the feeders. Anyhow, it’s not 100% but possibly worth the risk for OP if they want language continuity. [/quote]

I’m the PP above.  I was referring to getting a 5th grade seat at a feeder to get preference to get into DCI.  Those days are gone where that is a guarantee.

Stokes EE is a guarantee in 5th and pretty close in 4th. All other feeders took some in 5th. Also, if OP has a younger sibling that could also make it a guarantee. MV p blows through the WL in younger grades. [/quote]
