First, a school superintendent in Iowa. Now, a police officer in Illinois. It must be noted that illegal aliens are prohibited from owning a firearm. [twitter]https://x.com/fox32news/status/1978868122791592120[/twitter] CHICAGO - A Hanover Park police officer accused of living in the U.S. illegally has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement as part of a federal crackdown targeting sanctuary cities like Chicago. What we know: ICE said Thursday that agents arrested Radule Bojovic, a native of Montenegro, who was working as a sworn officer with the Hanover Park Police Department. Officials said Bojovic entered the U.S. on a tourist visa that expired in March 2015 and remained illegally for a decade. The arrest came during Operation Midway Blitz, a DHS enforcement campaign launched in September to target undocumented immigrants with criminal records in the Chicago area. According to DHS, Hanover Park Police Department records confirm Bojovic was approved by the Pension Fund Board of Trustees in January 2025 and eligible for a starting salary of $78,955. DHS said records also show his total earnings this year cost taxpayers $205,707, including $9,276 for FICA/Medicare taxes.
Radule Bojovic had work authorization when hired. He has worked all these years so presumably has delivered to the tax payers the services they paid for. The agency had never received any notice that his work authorization was revoked, and he can return to work when and if this is resolved. FWIW, after Elon's boys had their hands all over personal records in the federal govt, it's anyone's guess when their info is accurate. A few years ago there was a CBP officer who had served almost 20 years, previously worked for INS (before it was called ICE), and before that 5 Navy deployments. As far as he knew, he was a US citizen. He was awarded a medal by the CBP. Then when he was trying to help his brother immigrate (Legally) from Mexico federal investigators showed him a Mexican birth certificate with his name on it. His parents had moved to Texas when he was a baby and at some point obtained a fraudulent birth certificate. He was immediately fired and all the coworkers he'd been friends with (backyard barbecues, weddings, funerals) suddenly severed contact. Deportation proceedings started (even though military service is supposed to be taken into consideration when handling cases). He was under house arrest. As of last November he is not allowed to travel more than 25 miles from his home and still trying to get a visa.
