Op here. this thread is to discuss the state of coverage not to trade antisemitic and Islamophobic slurs. Pls read and explain why this isn’t receiving more attention. https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/israeli-military-says-it-controls-40-gaza-city-plans-expand-operation-coming-2025-09-04/
As noted earlier, none of this is newsworthy. After Oct 7 it was obvious what would happen, and having it play out is just not "news" at this point. There's nothing new to report - the hostages are still being held, Israel continues to work to locate them, and on it goes. The occupation of Gaza is merely the end of an unremarkable and predictable consequence of Oct. 7. The next newsworthy event will be the actual relocation of the Gazans far from Israel's borders, which will likely be of at least passing interest to the global media when it is completed. Until then, there's nothing much new to report.
That is silly reply - on the cnn splash page right now is a dad who killed his kid’s abuser, a deadly crash in Spain of a tram, and 3 sisters who recreated a picture from the 80’s. If those are newsworthy stories then the invasion of the largest city in Gaza should be a banner headline
It's not, though. CNN doesn't put every murder in the same region on the front page. Every now and then there's a front page story. There is coverage in the /world section. It's not going to be front page news every day for 2 years, when it's more of the same bombings and building takeovers. https://www.cnn.com/world
