Mixed up a little bit of language above - students coming from Hardy are not necessarily IB. The more relevant JR comparison is what percentage of Deal 8th graders move on to JR: SY19-20: 64% SY20-21: 63% SY21-22: 62% SY22-23: 54% SY23-24: 55%
That's an interesting comparison!
Not good stats when 1/2 the kids in ward 3 opt out of DCPS. That is really high.
Not out of DCPS, just not to a feeder. That seems pretty normal in a school system with selective high schools. Out of the 177 SY23-24 Hardy 8th graders, 99 went to a feeder DCPS (56%), 48 were not in audit (27%), 13-29 (7-16%) went to a selective DCPS school, 2-18 went to another DCPS HS (1-10%), and 2-18 went to a charter (1-10%). Out of the 464 SY23-24 Deal 8th graders, 257 went to the feeder DCPS (55%), 97 were not in audit (21%), 90-114 went to a selective DCPS school (19-25%), 14-38 went to another DCPS HS (3-8%), and 3-27 went to a charter (1-6%).
