I know quite a few divorced professional women in their 40s in NoVA/DC who have female side friends. Most started these relationships after their divorce and they keep it on the DL. It’s a much bigger number than you’d think.
I met a woman a couple of years ago. She was a widow. Probably in her mid-late-70s. Just found a woman and was dating and definitely being a lesbian. She was SO open about it. She did some googling - eye opening for sure!! LOL. I don't believe men can "make" a woman a lesbian. That's just silly. But if you are anywhere on the continuum other than 1 or 100, that means you might have a spark of interest in men or women (when you thought you liked women or men exclusively). You don't ever have to act on it. You don't ever have to "DO" any thing except maybe think, oh, she/he/they are hot. Or you might. It probably depends upon circumstances, where you are in life. And as you age you can become more open and flexible and accepting of life's wonders (and be open to a same sex encounter) or you become a curmudgeon. Your choice on how you handle change and the variety of sexuality and sensuality within you.
