My daughter, 4.51, 34 ACT, rejected by UVA, accepted by U Chicago and WASP, humanities major Her friend, average GPA, 1550 SAT, legacy, rejected by UVA, accepted by Georgetown, CS major Another friend, 4.3ish GPA, 1560 GPA, rejected at UVA, accepted by Cornell, engineering They all are well rounded kids with spectacular EC achievements.
Genuine question. Would any of the above mentioned be attending UVA if accepted? My own super high stats daughter with excellent and long term ECs, NMF, etc. applied ED to UVA. Didn’t want to chance it and didn’t want her parents to pay 90k+ for private. We are full pay. She’s a practical kid. Accepted as an Echols Scholar. Going into her second year and is happy as a clam. The great resources, opportunities, professors, etc. are beyond plentiful. If you love UVA, apply ED.
Maybe they did? It seems like a no-brainer to me. I am surprised more people don’t do it.
