As girls get older tactics matter less if we are talking ECNL. What matters most at those ages is college recruiting. I don’t like it but it’s a fact of how it works today. The best coaches are the ones who best position players for college. Winning is less important than getting good highlight reels, establishing relationships, getting more playing time (at the expense of your teammates). Hate the game not the player.[/quote]

This is why the thread wasn’t titled “which 2009 teams are qualifying this year?” Because those parents know that individual play and effort is so much more important for college soccer recruitment. The 2011 girl parents have always been wild and completely uniformed about youth soccer. [/quote]

I'm a 2011 parent, and I'm already there. This is rapidly coming to an end, and team wins are transient. I just want to see my kid make plays. Nobody truly GAF who the best 2011 local ECNL team is. The clock is running out on that (maybe it's already run out). [/quote]
