Child support from your ex still isn't enough to make ends meet until your severance runs out and/or unemployment kicks in and/or find another job? You might have to re-frame your lifestyle, discretionary spending, and overall expenses, but youre certainly not at the threshold of "poor" to trigger free food from FCPS.
Its unlikely the cs has been modified if they just lost their job a month ago.
So maybe Op should consider adjusting the child support sooner rather than later.
Or, she can get a job, any job.
You are an imbecile. Like she prefer to be unemployed?
Obviously she prefers to be unemployed. Tons of jobs out there. You can do landscaping work or flip burgers. No shame in doing what you have to do to survive.
A person on unemployment is doing themself a disservice by doing minimum wage jobs such as these. The income one would make flipping burgers/doing landscaping work is going to take away from the amount of unemployment they can receive. A minimum wage job will pay approx as much as unemployment ($375/wk ish) yet will require the person on unemployment to spend their time working said min wage job vs looking for a better paying job. Why would someone willingly do that before unemployment runs out? Unemployment insurance is not a public benefit, it is paid into by your (former) employer. If they qualify for unemployment, why should someone forgo it to flip burgers instead?
