The problem is that after the massacres on October 7th, there are no Israelis left of any political disposition who think it's a good idea that Palestinians should have their own independent state. There's no two state solution to be had when you have a terrorist organization like Hamas in charge of Gaza and a deeply corrupt regime like Fatah in the West Bank. And Hamas is every bit as corrupt as Fatah. Hamas leaders were all billionaires and richer than Donald Trump when they were killed. So there's no one to work with on the Palestinian side. And that's a big problem. And the Israeli lunatics on the right have taken complete advantage of the situation. And in some ways, the Israeli right has worked out very well for Israel. Hamas is still there, but they are governing a pile of rubble and aren't really a threat anymore. And the Hamas attacks on October 7th green lit the path for the obliteration of Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, much to the joy of 80 percent of Lebanese people of all religions. And it opened the door to toppling the Ba'athist Assad regime in Syria, a move that was supported by 90 percent of Syrians. And it led to the attacks on Iran, which pretty much wrecked Iran's capabilities to project force in the Middle East, another move that was supported by 90 percent of Sunni Muslims in the region. The pro-Palestinian movement among progressives in the US and Western Europe is very fringe. In the region, most Arabs are pretty pleased by Israel's actions. There is no popular support for Palestinians in Riyadh, Cairo, Beirut, Amman, and so on. Even Lebanon and Syria are ready to join Saudi Arabia in signing the Abraham Accords, which would normalize relations with Israel - as Jordan and Egypt did long ago. October 7th was a disaster for Palestinians and Iran. The extremism of Shi'a nutcases in Tehran and the breathtakingly stupid decisions of Palestinians - who are not Shi'a, but aligned with Tehran anyway - are really a marvel of how not to to do things. Palestinian statesmanship has been a disaster for 80 years. They could have had a great country many decades ago. But Palestinians always make the stupidest decisions possible. And why they do that is mystifying. They are the doctors and lawyers of the Middle East. They're not idiots. And yet here we are. Until Palestinians revolt against Hamas and Fatah, I don't see how anything is possible. Palestinians have no meaningful support among anyone anymore. No one wants them because of all the difficulties and violence they've caused in Lebanon, Jordan, Kuwait and so on. Palestinian refugees are literally the last people on Earth you want in your own country because they always go to terror and violence. For a smart people, Palestinians are really the dumbest people on Earth. And no one knows how to deal with them.
Where does the settler movement fit into your analysis of this problem? I’m no expert but I read that the seizure of Palestinian land for settlers started in the 1960s and there are now about 500,000 settlers. If it has been going on for 60 years, then clearly it’s official Israeli government policy. Are there any statistics for how many Palestinians have been killed by settlers?
Maybe those stats are kept with the figures around the numbers of Israelis killed by Palestinian terrorists and Arab aggressors which precipitated the settler movement into land seized after the defeat of Jordan in the Six-Day War.
You’re keeping a tally? Please add the six kids waiting for water in the refugee camp. “Eyewitnesses said a drone fired a missile at a crowd queuing with empty jerry cans next to a water tanker in al-Nuseirat refugee camp.” https://www.bbc.com/news/...rvxjnvv71o
If you want to play tit-for-tat, the volume of Palestinian atrocities won't make them look like the innocents you like to portray them as.
