Sigh. OP here again. Maybe it is me, but folks do not seem to understand my point. I did not get out of the market in any way shape or form. I do not play the market. I play the long-term. All I’m saying is that in this particular instance, I set aside money to cover my expenses for a longer period of time than I usually do because I was really hoping that the market would crash and the country would fall into an economic mess and that the idiot that we have as president would suffer the consequences. Unfortunately, that hasn’t happened yet. It’s very frustrating. The man is very frustrating. Right now I hate this country. That’s my bottom line.
The best advice is for you to get offline. It is not healthy to think the way you are expressing here. Put one of those kid filters on your phone tgat limits your internet time and blocks the websites from both political sides that load up their "news" with opinion pieces specifically curated to inflame and divide. Take all your social media apps off your phone, and only login 1x per day to visit the pages necessary for your real life, such as the soccer team or PTA pages. Block this website and all similar chat sites, seriously. You are being manipulated by your algorithms to be irrational and hyperpartisan. You need an emotional and mental detox from social media, message boards, partisan news sites and partisan commentators.
OP here. I’m not interested in turning this into a political post. Again, I’m just expressing surprise at where the stock market is. Having said that, now IS the time to be partisan. We can’t afford not to be with the lunatics running the country right now
But you created an explicitly political post, that was primarily about politics and a teensy bit about finances. You have let partisan politics taint your intellect, reason, judgement and humanity. You need to unplug from the internet, message boards, social media, and anything remotely partisan from the left or right.
