Rockville Pike is ONE AREA- sooo much of NOVA looks like Rockville Pike it is absolutely depressing, in addition to the gnarled traffic everywhere.  I also find the housing stock to be much much nicer in MD.  Other than that, NOVA is fine.[/quote]

I have to disagree.  I hate Rockville Pike.  If I need anything from a big box, it seems I have to fight the Rockville Pike traffic and the over crowded parking lots.  In VA, yes, there are many more strip malls that are spread out.  Not everything is found only on Leesburg Pike.  There are so many more options just to pull into a random strip mall, park, pick up what you need, and get on with the day.[/quote]

So... NOVA is better than Rockville Pike because the entire region is full of strip malls and lousy traffic and you can shop for junk to your heart's content?  Ok then.

Also, there is a lot of change and re-development occurring in the Rockville Pike area, so I think people should take that into account when they complain about it and compare it to we-love-our-damn-sprawl VA.  In addition, why would you go shop at any of these horrible places when the internet is available?   :?: [/quote]
