It can lead to exactly what you are trying to avoid. In a flash crash or any crash for just about any reason, your stocks can get liquidated. Say someone put a market sell order and there is a lowball bid close to end of day, that particular stock can get severely marked down. Lots of things can go wrong. [/quote]
