It's brilliant. Echoes of Bonfire of the Vanities in its style, but brought into 2025 NYC. What a tour de force. For once, the glowing blurbs from the illustrious authors on the cover should be trusted. I pride myself on my deep knowledge of NYC and its neighborhoods and inhabitants but this author astounds me with his insights. Pavone has done cultural historians a huge service with this novel.
