[/quote] Wow. I was all set to argue with you. In my world, thinking, informed by emotions usually rules. But huge numbers of people in the US don’t vote at all, and huge numbers of people vote against what might seem to be their best interests. So maybe where I’m stuck is that I’ve continued to hope for rational adult behavior from our voters in general — and been blind to the possibility that that’s really not where “most people, most of the time” actually are.
