I had a friend who was a longtime criminal defense lawyer with PDS, and he also said that, based on his client's information, [b]dogs are the best deterrent[/b].  They are unpredictable and at least career criminals like predictability.  Unclear whether the random person camping in your yard thinks the same way.[/quote]

Poison food given to dog. No more dog. 
Axe or shoot the dog, no more dog.
