My kid goes to school in the Deep South and says even people in less affluent areas or service jobs are dressed well and demonstrate better manners than their counterparts in the dc metro area. They are also friendlier and more courteous. [/quote] I disagree. I live in the South and the kids here are just as bad in terms of manners. They’re unable to hold a conversation, maintain eye contact, etc. They’re mostly pretty feral. The exception is private school kids. The most expensive private schools do a great job of polishing their kids.[/quote]
