I try to avoid areas with clouds of marajuana smoke. I don't like the smell and I associate it with layabouts. It's legal and there are a LOT of legal things that I want to keep away from my kids (and me).
You do you, but you would be absolutely shocked how many extremely productive people use THC during the day. I'm talking senior vice presidents of major organizations, big law partners, doctors, etc.
Most people would be surprised how many functional alcoholics there are too. This thread isn't about some VP popping a gummy at lunchtime. This is about people smoking a joint on the sidewalk, waiting at a crowded bus stop, while driving their car, etc.
I don’t think that person is accurate. I’m a lawyer and I don’t know anyone that uses pot with any regularity. The one person I know who does is my brother who is a professional who runs his own business but he’s basically driving that business into the ground. It’s a vicious cycle where he takes gummies because he’s anxious about his company but then doesn’t really have the motivation to figure out how to change the trajectory his business is on. He needs to pivot entirely but the pot is stopping him from doing that. Some level of anxiety is probably evolutionarily helpful.
Partner at a large PE firm in DC. I have many colleagues that take a gummy after work once the kids are down. Best way to de-stress.
