If you're a non college educated, non trademan, then factory work is a better option. Call center jobs moved overseas, retail work sucks and so does the gig economy. US union factory workers had good pay, just like German factory workers. [b]They're just much more expensive than third world workers and they get better health, safety, conditions and hours plus a better standard of living.[/b]
