Spicy thread. I like it. Can someone give me the breakdown on what happened with Alexandria and GA before? I keep seeing how disastrous it was without any details. Are the same coaches there or leadership? How much money does this guy make
The shorthand is ASA is not a club holistically focused for the elite level girls side. When they were in GA they were getting destroyed, and quite honestly it’s because their whole system is not setup for the elite environment. ASA does a great job selling a bundle to all their players. Spending 3 months paying for futsal in the winter is not going to translate to collegiate commitments.
Ok since you seem to be the same commenter, what's the timeframe on this? How long were they in GA and wasn't that due to a merger with another club? Is leadership the same and can clubs not change? Arlington also does futsal in the winter from what I understand. Arlington also used to get it handed to them at the older age groups but made a conscious change 5 to 6yrs ago at the club that is now starting to produce fruit. Seems to me that everyone is shortsighted. Just 2yrs ago brave was a disaster and union was just ok, now they seem to be getting a solid footing. Things change I guess is my point. There's negatives and positives for each club.
Arlington doesn't have their whole program focused on futsal, they just have futsal as a light winter activity. Their ECNL players do not do futsal. Brave and Union are at the same place they were years ago. The only club that has ever lost their elite pathway is literally ASA for girls side.
Why are you so hyper focused on futsal? Yes, it's a thing at ASA, so what's wrong with it exactly? Doesn't it run during the off season anyway and have its own benefits? Also, you're wrong about their (Arlington) ECNL players not doing futsal.
This is clearly an ASA parent... guys.... futsal runs through the winter yes but you realize ECNL/GA elite teams have important matches and train through the winter to prepare for showcases and important events in early spring/late winter.
