I was ordering supplies, making copies, filing documents at the courthouse, and running other errands for lawyers. I made great connections but no one is doing legal related work at that age. It’s not a golden ticket, but it’s a valuable experience. Summer work experience + being exposed to white collar norms would be invaluable to the kid.
