Pretty much - end of life care is the most expensive aspect and we live in the USA where most folks don't have advanced directives.

Republicans don't want death panels, but they also don't want to pay for joe schmoe who has no family, had a major stroke, cannot move nor feed themself, but can still breathe on their own, to be cared for in a nursing home. Or maybe they do have family, but famliy cannot afford to pay 40 hours for a home aide not to mention all the equipment and supplies.

Let us know, is there somewhere we just dump them? Wheel them outside to the bus stop? What if they are semi-there and we keep them alive on a vent? What do we do with them?
