WHERE DO WE LOOK TO SEE IF WE'RE ON PROBATION?
Your official HR hiring documentation will say if you are on probation. The probation is one year.
What is "official HR hiring documentation"? USAJOBS job announcement?
Check your most recent SF-50
Which box on SF-50 says you're probationary or not?
Your first SF-50 with the job is the "executive appointment." Box 45 "remarks" of that SF-50 will say what probationary period is associated with the appointment.
Is this universal? Our agency's box 45 only has remarks on pay increase.
NP, it may depend on what the sf-50 is for - what action was taken; you may need to look at you exec appt sf-50 and not an sf-50 that was issued for a general adjustment IMO it is maddening that this is so unclear. I should not be probationary anymore based on what I’ve been told but what if the sf-50 hasn’t been created? Our HR/sf-50s are often created months after the effective date
