Why would it be revised in the middle of a huge scandal all the way up to the highest level if not to try to make themselves relevant as creating order in the middle of the chaos on this and turn the attention away from it? The impetus for change started back in 2007 when Pope Benedict released Summorum Pontificum.  Funny that you think the Church could move a decision like liturgical change in just a few months from 2010 to 2011![/quote]

While the idea that the New English Missal was debuted in an effort to deflect attention from alleged sexual scandals is frankly ludicrous given the length of the work involved and the fact that the U.S. is only one English speaking country among many in the Church, a PP was correct that the process began with the 2001 issuance of Liturgiam authenticam. Summer Pontificum dealt with the use of the 1962 “Old Mass,” not the translation of the Novus Ordo. [/quote]
