There was a lot of talk about herd immunity and preventing transmission in the beginning. The talk morphed into preventing severe illness later when it became obvious that preventing severe illness is what the vaccine could accomplish. I think the vaccine plays an important role in public health but, like most things, it doesn’t have to be for everyone. My parents in their 70s, yes. My boys in their teens, no. We all have different factors to consider.[/quote]
