I am so interested in this thread. I’m about 40 pounds over the weight I want to be, and 25-30 over where the doctor would probably suggest I be. I have so many questions: 1. How did you get your doctor to prescribe it? Did you have to bring it up? 2. Is there one that’s “better” than the others if you want to avoid constipation? 3. Do you feel full faster? Or just do t have interest in eating? 4. If you are feeding a family (of 5 for me) how do you manage that? Are you grossed out by it all? 5. Do these meds ever NOT work? Do you just try a new one if that happens? 6. Do you know anyone who has gone off one of these drugs and managed to keep the weight off? Thanks!
I brought it up with my doctor. My BMI was normal but I had put on 15lbs once hitting peri-menopause. She was happy to prescribe based on that I am on wegovy and haven’t tried others. There was a pill weight loss drug (maybe duromine?) that she also mentioned but said that it often makes people anxious - I have had anxiety in the past and didn’t want that. I feel full faster but also don’t really think a lot about food anymore. I find it freeing. I don’t get grossed out making family meals at all A friend of mine was on Ozempic and she said it stopped working. She is now trying mounjaro. I understand that these are drugs you need to stay on your whole life or the weight comes back
Ridiculous
