I have no idea how it's being implemented at Fairfax but there are in fact schools that teach history through the lens of white oppression.

A) history is currently taught through a lens that doesn’t give enough attention to white oppression-which is a fact not an opinion.  We are white. It’s not bad or wrong to teach those things. But in looking at my child’s curriculum- it’s the standard line taught since I was in HS. What some of you think is happening in the classroom- it just is not happening systematically as part of the curriculum.

So feel safe in knowing that “white history” is still the default.

As far as how DEI and restorative justice- I have no information or observation to say it is. At least not in any obvious way.

Do they talk about diversity? Ofc and they should as Fairfax is very diverse. I’m in the school a lot and have to question if most of you who post here are. Because the “bogey men” y’all are fretting about just does not exist. [/quote]
