[/quote] Whenever the recent Harvard president’s plagiarism issues come up on DCUM, I’m amazed by how many people leap to her defense, saying things like “president is not an academic position” & “she only plagiarized in areas that were not key parts of her research.”[/quote] Yes, but have you actually read the dissertations of some people that probably didn't plagiarize? Many are absolute garbage and they supposedly had to defend their dissertations before graduating. Not defending plagiarizers but don't assume having a Ph.D. degree is affirming in any way. [/quote]
