What is wrong with some of you? It’s a legitimate question. Halloween has been temporarily moved from time to time in different states for various reasons. Usually it’s bad weather that changes the date. Nobody is going out during a hurricane. Utah has permanently changed the date of Halloween to the last weekend of October. Other states are starting to discuss permanent changes put Halloween on the last Saturday of October. Half our holidays change dates every year. And Halloween is not a government holiday.
It's not a government holiday, so how can "states" be discussing anything. The state doesn't set the holiday, we do. One important way, we keep the traditional date is by completely shutting down anyone who tries to move it. If your kid shows up on my doorstep on October 26th I will give them nothing. If you suggest it in public we will laugh at you. This is how we protect our traditions from idiots.
