It doesn't have to make perfect sense. In college, a close friend of mine committed suicide. The day before, he turned in a research paper for our class. If he was planning suicide (which he was, he bought a gun the week before we later found out), why bother with the research paper? The thing about suicide is people are not in their right minds when they do it. They do strange things. It's not always possible to understand their thought process leading up to the suicide.
