Ahhh I'm not the "ass." I was seated for 90 minutes next to a similarly obese woman who also had an extended seatbelt. I never complained or asked to move because she was lovely to talk to, and I didn't want to hurt her feelings. My head was partially in the aisle, I had a crick in my neck for two days, and got jostled anytime someone walked doen the aisle. [/quote]

NP. I don’t see it. This is one of those rare instances where someone asks how you are personally affected, and someone gave a very specific answer. You don’t have to like the answer, but it’s very specific and very accurate and many people experience it. And it doesn’t make the person an ass to answer the question.[/quote]

I'm the one you're responding to. How many years ago did airlines deal with this issue? They require passengers of a certain size to purchase two seats. So she pulls one example out of her ass that could technically affect her if true, but no airline allows this. And if they did she should have spoken up instead of harboring resentment against fat people. [/quote]

I agree that the airlines are problematic but you’re dreaming if you don’t think they push this envelope. Stories on this board alone show travelers who purchased two seats being forced to give one up. That’s a fact of life. Sorry, just is. And there is no way in hell that you’d be applauding her for speaking up as you said. No way. You’d be calling her an ass for fat shaming. And YOU lie if you claim otherwise. [/quote]

And for the record, I'm not even overweight much less obese, but the constant harassment, shaming, and blatant disrespect for fat people is disgusting. At worst, you are marginally impacted. You know what else impacts me on flights? Screaming children!!! people who don't shower. People who snore. Deal with it.[/quote]
