Full tuition from Ithaca, $30,000 from NYU, $25,000 from Emerson. 33 ACT. DC public HS, UW GPA 3.9.
Impressive. Didn't realize NYU gave merit. Tough to get down to level of in state. COA still must be over $60k
PP is not being truthful as NYU offers very limited merit money: https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/financial-aid-and-scholarships/applying-and-planning-for-undergraduate-aid/scholarships-and-grants.html $30k is not an option.
+100. NYU does not give merit aid. Scholarships and FA sure, but not merit.
why are people like this? look at CDS. they gave 143 no-need first years merit packages worth an average of over $40k
I think there are so few and restricted it's "safer" to assume nothing. 143 out of class of about 6,000 is like 2.5% looking at their website, scholarships are restricted to: 9/11 families, 1st gen, native American and NYC public.
Their scholarships are absolutely not restricted to those groups. Those are just some of the scholarships they offer. They also have presidential scholarships and artistic scholarships. Also, the CDS says that besides the 143, they awarded 226 first year freshman who had need non-need based scholarships. So they do have more merit than just the 143. https://www.nyu.edu/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/aid-and-costs/scholarships.html
Did you read the link you sent? AnBryce-financial need/first gen Lenape-native American Lewis-nyc residents Phi Theta-jr college Yellow Ribbon-military
Did you read the link? Those are just some of the scholarships. Their scholarships are absolutely not restricted to those. They also list presidential (which is an academic scholarship) and artistic and don’t say how many or how much. I have several kids and NYU was one of the most generous so please stop discouraging people from applying. The scholarships aren’t guaranteed but they do offer them. Another school where one of my kids got good merit (academic) was Case, but that was a few years back.
I feel like you need to re-read the link. These are very specific and limited scholarships available in limited quantities. NYU is expensive and gives virtually no merit aid.
