Coco is more like Naomi Osaka. Whiners who’ve never proven anything.
What hasn't Osaka proven? She won 4 grand slams by her very early twenties. Is taking time off to focus on mental health that bad? Does it make her a whiner on the court?
Including that billionaire daughter Navarro
You are thinking Pegula. If Coco's actions are bad enough to have a thread started about them, then most certainly a thread about Collins's and Navarro's actions is in order.
DP. No, Navarro's father is also a billionaire. I agree with the PP who said that the behavior of all three is a terrible look for the US. All three women seem to have used the Olympics to address ongoing grievances from the pro tour, which is a bad look and contrary to the spirit of the Olympics. However, Collins and Navarro weren't medal favorites and don't get nearly the attention that Coco does, so it makes sense that her behavior comes under greater scrutiny. It's also not entirely clear what Collins and Navarro were so upset about; whereas Coco melted down over a call that actually was correct. Go to Youtube, slow the speed down, and you will see 100% that she hit the ball before the call was made. There's no question. That said, people need to give Coco some grace. She's young, and it's not like she mounted a massive campaign to be the flagbearer (at least to my knowledge). That honor was given to her by fellow athletes and came with tremendous pressure, which helps to explain why her emotions got the best of her. One meltdown (or three or four) doesn't define who she is as a person. She's still evolving.
