I wonder where OP is from. I'm from S Texas, Hispanic, and I love this style of architecture because it reminds me of home. UT ATX doesn't have the exact same style but doesn't utilize the red, terracotta tiled roof. My home was nothing but Saltillo tile. It's just the style in certain areas because of local product.

In other posts - what makes a person uncultured isn't whether they prefer one style over another - it's that they don't accept there are differences in style and culture and influences that vary around the country and around the world. The OP sounds tacky. It's ok if somebody prefers red brick colonial over Spanish mission or over stone buildings... or whatever...but you don't need to thoughtlessly trash one or the other.[/quote]
